At the Great Lakes Invitational, No. 1 Michigan State defeated No. 4 Western Michigan 3-1 in the finals with Isaac Howard scoring his 11th goal of the season and contributions from Tiernan Shoudy and Joey Larson as the Spartans improved to 15-2-1. In the third-place game, Logan Morrell’s eighth goal of the season in overtime lifted Michigan Tech to a 4-3 win over Northern Michigan, with Tech improving to 10-6-1 as Northern’s struggles continued, dropping their eighth straight to fall to 1-18-1.
 
In exhibition play, Zach Kranjik scored twice to lead No. 12 Minnesota State to a 6-1 win over the Bisons, with an S, from Manitoba while Niagara saw five different players score in a 5-2 exhibition win over Guelph from north of the border in Ontario. They’re the Gryphons, spelled G-R-Y-P-H-O-N-S.

In non-conference women’s action, Sydney Vandenberg and Bridget Pringle each scored their first goals of the season as Dartmouth earned its first win of the year, a 2-1 victory over New Hampshire on Monday. The win snapped Dartmouth’s 14-game losing streak to start the season, while New Hampshire dropped to 10-9-1.
